• Consultation

Dr Mogilevski welcomes all patients with gastrointestinal concerns. These may include general gut symptoms, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease or liver troubles. Speak to your GP to see if a consultation is appropriate for you. All consultations attract a medicare rebate when referred by your GP . Initial appointments will usually take about 40 minutes. This allows for a comprehensive history, examination, diagnosis and management plan.

  • Gastroscopy

A gastroscopy is an exam used to detect changes or abnormalities in the oesophagus (gullet), stomach and first part of the small bowel (duodenum). During a gastroscopy, a long, flexible tube (gastroscope) is inserted into the mouth. A tiny video camera at the tip of the tube allows the doctor to view the inside of the oesophagus, stomach and small bowel. Usually, biopsies are taken in order to help diagnose your condition. You are asleep (under sedation) during the procedure and will not be aware of the examination.

  • Colonoscopy

A colonoscopy is an exam used to detect changes or abnormalities in the large bowel (colon) and last part of the small bowel (ileum). During a colonoscopy, a long, flexible tube (colonoscope) is inserted into the bottom. A tiny video camera at the tip of the tube allows views of the inside of the bowel.

If necessary, polyps or other types of abnormal tissue can be removed through the scope during a colonoscopy. Tissue samples (biopsies) can be taken during a colonoscopy as well. You are asleep (under sedation) during the procedure and will not be aware of the examination.

  • Inpatient consultation

Dr Mogilevski provides an inpatient consultation service for Epworth Richmond Hospital. Here she helps other doctors manage difficult gastrointestinal concerns when patients are admitted to hospital.

  • Open access endoscopy

In certain cases it can be quite clear to your GP that you need endoscopy and you may not need a consultation prior to having your procedures. In this case, you will first meet Dr Mogilevski on the day of your procedure. Speak to your GP to see if this is an option for you. For your safety, if you are taking medications for diabetes or blood thinning medicines (aside from aspirin) you may need a consultation prior to booking in for your endoscopy.
